Disney Stars Nominated for Nick Awards

Miley Cyrus, Raven Symone, and Dylan and Cole Sprouse received nominations for the 21st  Annual Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards.  Both Miley Cyrus and Raven Symone were nominated for Favorite Television Actress while Hanna Montana was nominated for Favorite TV Show.  Also Dylan and Cole Sprouse were both nominated for Favorite Television Actor.

High School Musical 3

For those who just can’t wait for the third and final installment of High School Musical, wait no more. The cast is currently recording the soundtrack, and rehearsals for the movie are due to start in March. Corbin Bleu gave TV Guide some hints of what’s to come: “It’s [about] graduation, senior year, prom… all that goes into it. And there’s going to be a school production as well. I have seen the first draft of the script, and [my character] Chad’s got a lot to do. I think the major thing for him in this movie is he’s leaving this world of high school that he’s been so attached to all these years — he’s going to be pulled out of his element — and that is a bit of a hard transformation for him.”Bleu is already feeling the difference between the small-screen High School Musicals and the new motion picture. “There’s obviously a bigger budget and the grandeur is on a higher scale,” he says.

Disney released 2009 schedule

Disney released  opening dates for a number of films coming to a theater near you in 2009 and early 2010.  Old  Dogs starring John Travolta, Seth Green, and Robin Williams will be in theaters April 10, 2009.  The Hanna Montana Movie will be in theaters on May 1 2009.  Also scheduled to be released in 2009 is Surrogates starring Bruce Willis, release date November 20, 2009.

Beyonce

Beyonce is adding another title to her resume, executive producer.   As if she hasn’t already accomplished enough, Miss Knowles has signed on to executive produce and star in Darnell Martin’s “Cadillac Records” for Sony BMG Films. Beyonce will play Etta James in the 1950s period film about the Chicago record company Chess Records. Jonas Bros.

 The Jonas Bros  performed at the Chevy Rocks the Future event at the Buena Vista Lot at The Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, Calif. on Tuesday. Chevy introduced its lineup of gas-friendly and gas-free vehicles and new green technology.  Check out the Jonas Bros in concert tonight at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

In other disneyjuice related news Tyler Perry will turn Madea into a cartoon.  He has teamed up with Exodus Film Group.  Mr. Perry will create, write and exec produce an undetermined number of 22-minute standalone episodes of the series. Perry,  conceived of the idea with William Morris’ Charles King and Exodus’ Jerome Williams.
